16 Nov Love Ya Like I Can tour – Kerryn Fields and Matt Joe Gow
We were lucky to see Kerryn Fields and Matt Joe Gow at House on the Hill in Clifton Hill on Saturday night as part of their Love Ya Like I Can tour. Although country music is not normally my thing, I really loved their music. Kerryn is a talented storyteller and brings all her good humour and quick wit to the stage. Matt Joe Gow is effortlessly cool and a great musician.
It was a lovely evening. Mark and Candice opened their beautiful home to about 50 of us, and we sat in their living room with an uninterrupted view of Melbourne City. We brought our own wine and were served a delicious supper at the interval.
It was great to see Kerryn Fields play again – I am a fan. And they finished the evening with a very uplifting rendition of their song Love Ya Like I Can. It left us on such a high note.
Kerryn and Matt are travelling around regional Australia on their Love Ya Like I Can tour. They played a mix of songs they have written together, some of Kerryn’s songs, which they sing together and some of Matt’s.
It was definitely a bit of a refreshing evening for me. As someone who is used to listening to contemporary electronic music, there was something so wholesome about listening to real acoustic instruments as an accompaniment to their talented voice work.
