So lucky to live here – beautiful evening

By | November 29th, 2017|architecture, cinema, design, parks and gardens, weather|

So incredibly grateful right now. I only had to wait 20 minutes for a bus and it is 11:30 pm on a Wednesday night. So amazing. This little strip is one of my favourite in Melbourne. It is Lygon St in Carlton. So leafy and vibrant and lush.

Birthday parties on a balcony – in a beautiful city

By | September 29th, 2017|architecture, bars and restaurants, friends, holidays, light art|

My evening was a feast of the senses. First, a 180 degree view of Port Melbourne from a coast facing balcony on the fifth floor. Absolutely amazing :-) Beers, sparkling, espresso martinis (not for me though, I would be climbing the walls), cheese and nice conversation. Then another view out over the harbour, with lights [...]

dreaming of the perfect shot

By | June 15th, 2017|architecture, art, photography|

noble like a knight – Gretta Ray – Towers

By | April 14th, 2017|architecture, light art, music|

So happy to have found Gretta Ray. Towers is the kind of song that I hum when I wake up from an inspiring dream in the middle of the night. So cheerful, so life affirming, so inspirational, so cinematic. Favourite song of the week.

photography for refreshment

By | March 20th, 2017|architecture, bars and restaurants, photography, weather|

Photography is such a good antidote for a mind that can not take in one more scrap of useful information. It is nice to lose myself in light and colour and rejuvenate. Summer nights are nearly gone for another year. I thought this bar captured the vibe of those delicious, warm evenings perfectly with its [...]

summer evening walks in the neighbourhood

By | March 6th, 2017|architecture, light art|

It is fun to explore a different part of my suburb each evening. It is so interesting to see the diversity in architecture, gardens and streetscapes in different pockets around the neighbourhood. On every adventure I find something new and a new place to explore.
