30 Jul Music IS validation – it is wonderful too!
So I’ve had quite a day. And things are going quite well, considering that … I just put an ad on Facebook for my new product, and I got two messages within very soon, within the time of the ad going up, and they’re both relevant. So I’m quite excited. If Facebook keeps finding me people like that. Then, um, I might be able to sell some of my little nutrition reviews. And that would be so exciting and good. After 14 years. of writing. Um… It would be great to have it come to something.
So… And I’ve just been… So the reason why I was so happy was because this guy, I was so lucky. I mean… it’s so worthwhile doing, um… free reviews because the feedback that I got was just so, super helpful. And maybe three free ones is enough. Maybe I should offer more free ones. But, um, this guy, he’s a bit older, more, he’s a kind of elderly gentleman, and he’s quite health conscious, and he just, his feedback was so detailed, and it had so many good ideas in it, and it was just… It made me so excited, because it makes me feel like this product is gonna be really… valuable.
I mean, I think I already knew that it could be valuable, because of… the interest that I had initially when I first put up the post, but this just makes me feel like it’s gonna be super helpful to people. So I was quite excited. And I was up at Clifton Hill, having a… Prana chai. And I was listening to music and I thought to myself, I need something that’s quite upbeat because I’m feeling quite happy because it was just so exciting to do this work. I’m redoing the report so I can send it back to him after I’ve made changes that he suggested. So I was like, listening to this guilty pleasures playlist, but the thing is that it kind of…It’s a little bit saccharine, if you know what I mean? Like it pulls at your heartstrings a bit. Which was fine, but just while I was working, it was a bit difficult.
And then I got home and I was so happy and I just didn’t know, it was so hard to match the mood. I needed a playlist… I felt like I wanted to lift the roof off. That was my emotion. That’s what my happiness felt like. I want to lift the roof. And so I was like, fine, thinking of music to do that, and it’s quite hard to. I’ve got some playlists, but I don’t have one that just collects, like, music makes you go, ‘Oh!, just so happy’.
But, um, then… I realised that my friend makes these playlists that are very upbeat and very energetic, and they’re so fun. So I listened to one of those, this Winter 25 playlist, which I’ll post in my blog, and it was so fun, and it was just the kind of energy that I was looking for.
So I texted her and said, Thank you for your music. It’s so cool. And then I realised when I was talking to my mum, that my 80s playlist is quite upbeat too. There’s something about 80s music that’s so cheerful. I don’t know whether it was just the life back then – perhaps it was easier, it was maybe more fun. I don’t know, it was just, everyone was having a good time, and the 80s music is always so upbeat, or at least this playlist is… And sometimes that can be a bit saccharine too… Pulling your heart strings too a bit. But… It was good.
And then as I said, I got these messages from these people responding to my ad, which is just amazing. And, um… And now I’ve decided to put on my late night chill playlist, ’cause I’m just winding down, I guess I’m gonna go and have a shower and relax. Wind down. . .What time is it? It’s only 9:15, but I just feel like it’s been a big day.
Anyway, I guess I just, I’m kind of at that point where I don’t need any more upbeat music. I just feel like chill music now. (And maybe some of that saccharine stuff 😛 )
It’s just so funny how music changes. I feel like it’s like this, um, way to express your mood. I mean, I guess everyone knows that, but and you put on happy music. But it’s such a, buzz… And I guess that’s why maybe making music is such good therapy. They say that. Maybe it is because you translate your emotions into sounds, which I’ve always struggled to know how to do that. I guess you’d find sounds that kind of, sound how you feel, but I really don’t know, it seems like it’s a long distance… between putting the song together and how it makes you feel emotionally…
Anyway, but maybe it’s different if you play an instrument, like, if you play the piano, you put your emotions into how that sounds, or what kind of sounds you make. I’m not sure, but I need to investigate it more.
Anyway, this is my thoughts on music at the moment. Just, it’s such a good way to… And it’s kind of validating, I guess, is the thing with music, ’cause you put on something that you feel, and then you go, yeah, that’s how I feel, and you hear it, and it just feels like it’s very, so it’s a good way to kind of validate your feelings.
Anyway, I hope you’re having a fun evening. I’ll talk to you soon. Bye.
