22 Jun Home progress report
I love my house tonight.
Today I cleaned the windows and window sills in my living room because I am getting new blinds fitted tomorrow.
It was an interesting sensation to inhabit this space with the venetian blinds pulled all the way up. After I finished cleaning, I sat on my couch with a beer and felt slightly uncomfortable but in a good way when the hot guy who is staying in my neighbour’s apartment walked past and waved.
Then I sat and looked out over the roofops to the clouds, which I think will always remind me of my lovely Mrs H – my aged care client. She is always observing their shapes in the sky. Sometimes above her beautiful north facing home in the east of Melbourne.
In any case, after a while the sunshine came pouring through into my study/dining room and it was glorious.

(A work in progress though!! Getting closer and closer still!)
After a while I started to get a kind of chill in my soul and felt like I wanted to close the blinds again. Thankfully they cooperated on this occasion – the fact that they are old and not so functional every time is one of the reasons why I am getting them replaced.
Although I have been upset about the service that the crowd I am buying from gave in the design of the blinds, and wondering about things like bottom up blinds so that I can hide the building across from me but see the trees, now that the evening has descended, I am more comfortable with the idea of blocking out everything once night falls (from the top of the window).
A cosy glass of red wine
Sitting in my home on this wintry evening, sipping on a glass of red wine and listening to late 90s, early 2000’s music, I am feeling like a lot of progress has been made!!

Happy days!!
