an early evening walk through the neighbourhood – this winter’s day

Happy Friday!!

I am feeling a little bit fragile tonight after waking up early into the kind of pure, unadulterated stress that would terrify anyone. Being social with my aged care client and getting some vigorous exercise by swimming laps with my client did a good job of taking most of the edge off the anxiety, but I still feel a little wobbly from the memory of it!

Even though I went grocery shopping after my shift, this evening I felt like I wanted to step out for a bit more of an adventure (and to get some more steps), so I decided to make a chipotle burrito bowl for dinner and walked up to the high street to get the ingredients I need.

The world feels so lovely out there tonight. I bumped into a friend of a friend in our neighbourhood and stopped and chatted for a while patting her dog all the while. Goldy’s have finished their renovations (which is amazing work in just four days!!) and people were sitting out under the pergola and on tables along the footpath.

I recorded a draft vlog post about a cultural work I have been meaning to share with you, and got my supplies at the super. On the way home the neighbourhood felt like it had such a buzz. It must be that time of the evening, where the night comes alive and people are walking between work and drinks, or on their way out.

It is not too cold out there tonight, even thought it has been quite inclement these past few days.
