16 Apr Jour Cafe & Store Menu, Collingwood: What to Order
Jour Cafe & Store is located at 29 Keele Street in Collingwood. It is just a short detour east of Smith Street, or a lovely place to stop on a walk through from the north eastern precinct of Collingwood.
What makes Jour Cafe & Store special?
The elements that make Jour Cafe & Store so special is the wonderful deck outside the cafe, which is north facing and perfect for soaking up the sun (or shade under umbrellas in the warmer months). It also has a pretty charming atmosphere inside. With white washed walls, provincial furniture, and an exquisite glass pastry case on the counter filled with the most tempting of vegetarian, French morsels.
The menu has recently changed to become vegetarian, and while the prices are not as good value as they were previously, the a la carte menu features some very appetising meals. If you like the experience of an authentic French omelette, I think you will be delighted.
Some of the best value items on offer are those in the pastry case. Try the egg based breakfast cups or brioche sliders! These can be eaten alone for a reasonable price or with a delicious side salad for not too much more.
The Jour Cafe & Store experience
Today I sat outside on the deck. Under the olive tree there, it felt like I could be sitting in the sunshine in southern France. I ordered an oat matcha without sugar or honey. I used their ample sized table to work on my computer. The matcha was organic and it tasted delicious. The serving staff are lovely and made sure that water was flowing freely.
I noticed that they have organic coffee offerings. This is quite unique in this pocket of Collingwood/Smith Street and is a significant drawcard, given how many chemicals and pesticides are used on mainstream coffee beans that are generally used in cafes.
Why make the trip?
Just a short walk east along Keele Street you’ll find a lovely neighbourhood pocket park. Next door to Jour sits CIBI, a beautiful Japanese store and cafe perfect for a spot of shopping or cafe hopping after your meal. Nearby on Smith Street, Clay is a new wholefoods shop worth stopping into for groceries and supplies. Slow Clay is also right next door on Keele Street — worth a visit for coffee or lunch after a pottery class. Later in 2026 there will be an attractive green space around the corner in Budd Street to enjoy.
Jour Cafe & Store is not open on weekends anymore. They are open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 3 pm. While Jour is a weekday-only destination, it’s well worth planning a Friday visit around
Who would love it there?
It is perfect for people looking for somewhere to do office work in Collingwood while they sip on their delicious organic drinks menu. Or as a classy place to meet for a leisurely and tasty lunch with a client, friend, family member or colleague. People who love French culture will enjoy Jour, as will foodies, as the menu and the skill of the chef at Jour is particularly notable.
Practicalities
There is some street parking on Keele Street, however, it is not guaranteed as parking in the streets of Collingwood can be hard to come by.
I have spoken more about my impressions of their delicious food here on My Health Zest, but my overall impression of Cafe Jour was that it is a lovely vibe for a special lunch, or work spot.
