Hip hop in the night sky

Sitting on this hill, with an aerial view of Sampa the Great at Pambula Beach of all places, is absolutely heavenly. Music fills the cool air and coloured light reflects off the eucalypt trees behind the stage. It is divine.

The Showgrounds are filled with happy people and the big tents are all lit up.
This feels like such a refreshing movement for this place. To sit up here and see a huge crowd wave their hands in the air seems like such a rejuvenating spirit.

I have bumped into so many of the best people I knew when I was living here. And it has been awesome!

Highlights for me were definitely Thelma Plum, Melbourne Ska Orchestra and Urthboy. He put on such an amazing show. Listening to his Indigenous guitarist and backup vocalist sing You’re The Voice in support of the referendum had tears pouring down our faces.

What a truly magical experience!
