The Arbory Bar Melbourne

So, another nice thing about living in Melbourne is the fact that when you get tired of your life and your house and your music, it isn’t so hard to just jump on a train (or a bus) and head into the city to listen to someone else’s music for a while! I am at the Arbory Bar Melbourne just next door to Flinders Street Station. And the music is gorgeous!

The Arbory Bar has lovely warm bin fires over the winter, and it is still possible (although very, very lucky) to get a seat after 6:30 p.m. on a Friday night. This is not such an issue during the week. But if you are coming on Friday, it might be a good idea to come early.

The music is always so nice here. I don’t know who the DJ is, but it is cheerful, soulful, house music I think. And I am here for it.

The menu is pretty varied. I am here for it because it has mussels, which are a favourite because they are seafood without brains or developed nervous systems so don’t feel pain. They also have a lovely Barramundi and bean cassoulet on their winter menu which sounds lovely!

I probably won’t eat here tonight, Although!! I just saw with a handy QR code, I can order from my table.

Another wine? A yummy mussel dish anyone?
I am not feeling it, I have to say. It is nice to come out and have a drink. But I actually want to stick to my budget this week and I have the whole weekend (and many engagements) to go!

The Arbory Bar Melbourne is such a nice place for a tipple though. Overlooking the Yarra River, the lights are so lovely.
