Bloom – Melbourne Theatre Company – 5 stars!

If you want to be delighted. If you want to cry tears of joy. And enjoy 1 hr 45 minutes absolutely entertained by the most talented cast playing the most wonderful script, and singing wonderfully MOVING songs, then I suggest that you hurry and buy tickets to BLOOM. It really was one of the best pieces of theatre that I HAVE EVER SEEN!

The story is about the journey of two new residents to an aged care facility through the trial and tribulations of this community’s aspirations to have meaningful lives, under the watchful eye of a tight-fisted director Mrs McIntyre.

Anne Edmonds gave the performance of her career (thus far), I think. She had me absolutely uproarious in laughter. As the nasty director of the aged care facility – she was marvellous.

Frankie J Holden was also a wonderful actor in this play. He played Doug. I had actually never seen him act before, but he displayed such a soft, vulnerable side, which was just LOVELY to witness.

All the actors were brilliant.

Salvatore!

Wow!! 😮

The experience was wonderfully engaging and entertaining. Joyful tears are what it brought me to. I had never seen anything LIKE it!

The fact that it was a musical was so fun. The way that the actors would burst into song to tell the story.

5 STARS – see it if you can!

Nothing better than a night at the theatre!
