09 Jun Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
So far, I have only had the experience of seeing Part Two of the Harry Potter play, currently showing at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne. It was absolutely brilliant. If you have tickets, or access to tickets, I don’t think you will regret it. The plot is compelling and the stage craft is amazing.
When we left they gave us badges with the hashtag #keepthesecrets so I am not sure how much I should tell about this marvellous production. I was given tickets by a friend, but had I known how amazing it would be, I would have paid.
The people responsible for the set design crafted a world which was as amazing as it was brilliant. I loved the story, of part two. However, people said that part one involved more magic, and more trickery. I certainly would suggest seeing both parts, especially if you can get discount tickets at other times of the year. I had an obstructed view, but it really made no difference to my enjoyment of this amazing production.
Three hours over two nights. It sounds like a lot but it goes fast. It is compelling and fun to be a part of the action. Great theatre and story telling.
