Ode to winter rain

rainy day poetry ode to winter rain

Ode to winter rain

Warm in winter clothes while the rain falls. Sheltered from the atmospheric cold and wet. And viewing the world, separated by glass. It pours down around me. The world is bursting open with the life-giving product of the heavens. And while it is so cold outside, the bracing air outside feels all the more snug when viewed from the cocoon of comfort and woollen clothes.

It is the cosiest kind of comfy. Winter rain. The lights shining through it, the roads slick with the moisture. Back inside, the house smells like roasted beetroot and garlic. A winter dip, fragrant with seasonal flavours. Stay quiet, inside and let the world reset.
