05 Sep Tools down – day 16 – a liveable kitchen
This is huge!
I just partially stacked my dishwasher. 😮
It is the strangest feeling. The experience of being in my home, that I have inhabited for about 10 years now, and opening up the dishwasher to put in some dusty and dirty dishes. . . Wow!! 😀 My dad is a star on legs.
I do need something in my glass. Something festive with some fizz. . .
How about Burgundee Creaming Soda? It was an impulse psychosis buy from many months ago, but it was cold in my fridge.
It is fizzy and sweet. Probably just what I need right now. I am going to be taking things very slowly today. I am as fragile as can be.
Last night turned into a kind of hellscape of sorts. I don’t want to go into the details, but suffice to say I was in no fit state to countenance my dad playing around with powerpoints at 12 am on another huge day (and not much sleep). He decided that it was not worth the potential hazard to connect one in the kitchen either. And I am so glad. Too dangerous to be playing around with when he was tired.
I slept on the couch, and it wasn’t too bad a sleep, but it was short – we were up till at least 1:30 am, and Dad came into the living room and I woke at about 6:55 am.
I guess it just felt like a big stretch. I admit, I was a bit upset with my Dad for trying to achieve so much in such short periods of time, but I have to hand it to him. My kitchen is definitely liveable. He cleaned it up really nice before he left. What a kind, and generous man.
I guess I should say that it is not finished. But it is not too far away. He is coming back in a few weeks. I am so pleased. It is fun working on this project with him. The satisfaction and participating in seeing it come together was worth the short term anguish and shame that I felt last night when we were working into the night. 😉
