Dessert of doughnuts

Dessert of doughnuts

Bright lights, hard, shiny surfaces, too much food, and too much sugar… what’s not to like!?

I am sticking to my strategy of drinks, dessert and lunch. Dinner is always so expensive and it would be nice to have a glass of wine, so that adds another $15 or so. All up you are looking at $50 for one meal. It doesn’t feel worth it to me. Not on an average Friday. (In a new world!!)

I found some dessert restaurants in Moonee Ponds. Two variations on a bit of a niche theme. Greek doughnuts.

When I walked in, I smelt the unmistakable scent of rancid oil. It did not augur well, but I am not going to name this outlet because I am a fan of dessert restaurants generally and I want them to succeed.

There are lots of people here! And getting here was an adventure.

The urban form of Moonee Ponds is delightful. Very cosmopolitan with a human scale. There is less outdoor eating than Collingwood or Fitzroy but it still feels like a special place. With a different demographic.
