31 Jul Apple Crumble at Goldy’s – one star
It is strange but practical to go out for dessert after a delicious fish pie. It is a fraction of the price and probably a lot less calories than a pub meal.
i am sitting in the radiant heat of Goldy’s. I came in because I thought maybe they would have an open fire, but it is not lit. And it is cosy, nonetheless.
Local desserts
i ordered the apple crumble. I can count three desserts in my local area that I want to try and perhaps there will be more.
it was depressing to see that Girls and Boys is permanently closed as well as Twisted. So, perhaps if I can find enough restaurants with desserts I won’t have to consider starting my own dessert and tea house for after dinner gatherings. How cool would that be?
The verdict
Very disappointing. For such a measly portion I feel like my blood sugar has hit the roof.
As for the taste. It wasn’t worth it. A lot of it was like eating a tepid ice cream soup – pretty disgusting.
Now I feel sick and it wasn’t even tasty and it was so expensive for what it was.
I hope I find better dessert options in my neighbourhood.
