It seems like I should write about the winter solstice in the evening. Perhaps taht means I should write about the summer solstice during the day!
I created 29 pieces of artwork for the occasion, but this was my favourite. Let me know what you think!!
Our winter solstice happened around a table and in a kitchen in Northcote. Our beautiful host opened up her home to us and the beautiful Josephine had cooked us the most amazing meal. The first thing she prepared was mulled wine, using Chancellor shiraz, sugar, spices, and and orange embedded with cloves. While this simmered she heated the other curries, that she had prepared at her home earlier.
They were a taste sensation! The whole meal was superb, including the yummy naan that Damian brought and the snacks that Mao brought. Paris also brought hummus, falafels and pita. What a feast!!
The seating arrangement wasn’t ideal perhaps, at least from where I was sitting, and I wasn’t quick enough to pick up on the cue, that Josephine should have been at the head of the table, but we chatted through her delicious meal and then it was time for games.
I left before they began. I hadn’t slept for two days, by then. They went on to play a very interesting game, which I didn’t catch the name of (it was Mysterium), but sounded like it was some ‘dreaming up ways to die’ or something interesting liek that. There was a master ghost, hehe. How did they die?
After that, was some uno apparently, then ‘taco cat fish cheese gopher which was hilarious’ – Paris.
Lita asked what else we got! And Mao suggested chess. . . which would be so wonderful! I will have to head down to his neck of the woods one day to play with him! (It is a dream come true).
So that was our winter solstice. I slept most of the day during the actual solar new year. So sorry for the delay. I suppose that is to be expected. WE are supposed to be resting, , , and laying low during this quiet, dark period.
