08 Jun Thea Anamara Perkins – Return, 2024
There was one painting on level 1 of the MCA that I saw before the neon assault on the senses, that used a particular technique that I really loved to see.
It is difficult to see it in this photo, but I can almost remember the way the acrylic on clayboard was laid down in strokes that made the individual colours and textures look so lovely.
The part that I loved the most was just above the small boys head on the left of the painting. Absolutely, my thing. I will have to ask my elderly artist client how it could be achieved with acrylic paint.
