06 Apr wintertime and red wine
The nice thing about drinking white wine or rose in summer and red wine when the clocks turn back from summertime, is that those first few glasses evoke such a sensory memory of winters past.
Tonight, when I was eating my warming leek and chicken soup with sage and thyme, and drinking a glass of wine, it made me realise how much I love winter in Melbourne. How this city really shines in the colder months. Not everyone would agree with me, I am sure. But I love it. And I hope I can experience it this year. Last year was a mess, and I missed my winter festivities.
Of course, red wine has more alcohol than white wine, so I must say I feel a little tipsy after a glass of it tonight.
Melbourne, how I love you. . .
