17 Dec Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature – ACMI
It is so simple and yet so elegant. To realise that we are so connected with nature, may help us to learn to protect and regenerate it. Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature explores our relationship with nature in a truly breathtaking exhibition at ACMI this summer. It is the world premiere of the exhibition, and so far, more than 20,000 people have visited it. It is a visual, aural and textual feast. Exploring the connection between the oxygen we breathe out and the carbon dioxide that plants breathe in. As well as the way that oxygen moves through our body, replenishing organs with life-giving and oxygen-containing blood.
Evocative poetry annotates the experiences, and the natural flows of the elements of our world are visually represented by some truly beautiful light art.
I don’t want to spoil the exhibition if you get a chance to see it for yourself. However, I will say that the video light art and soundscapes are intensely mesmerising and awe-inspiring. I left the exhibition with the most serene sense of peace and calm, having breathed in the tides of light, air and water that flow so effortlessly throughout our planet to nourish life.
If you go, I would recommend buying the VR Evolver experience. Seeing the way that oxygen moves throughout your body is something else!! 😮
I loved Marshmallow Laser Feast. Strange title really, and not quite what I was expecting, but truly wonderful, nonetheless.
