12 May Ode to winter
The sharpness of the brisk air on my face as I step out into the world.
Rugged up in a warm woollen coat and scarf, impervious to the cold.
Finding shelter in the warmth of a bustling, twinkling space.
Red wine spreads warmth, from my chest to the table to the room.
Rich food and conversation brings the table together.
Our warmth and friendship grows, twinkling like the fairy lights in the heart of this restaurant.
Until we kiss our goodbyes and with a burst of fresh air find our way home.
To cosy, warm houses, where our souls sing of full bellies and warm hearts.
