I must say that I prefer Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) to Halloween, even though they are both kind of celebrating the same thing. Apparently there is a time between autumn and winter, where the spirits of the people who have passed away can permeate into the worlds of the living. It is a time of overlap between the two worlds.

Obviously, in Australia, it is spring and the overlap between the dark and the light is not as present as in the northern hemisphere.

Day of the dead is nice though. We are actually going to celebrate those people in our lives who have passed away. It is a rich celebration for people we care about who are no longer with us!
